Longitude 106 East employs qualified instructors able to offer learn to sail courses at a range of levels either in dinghies or keelboats.
Dinghy courses are based at the International Sports Club of Indonesia (ISCI) in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta and are held after school on week days and on weekends.
Keelboat courses are conducted on Jakarta Bay and in the Thousand Islands.
We start teaching on small light boats to develop get a real understanding of the basic principles and techniques of sailing that will form the foundation of your future in sailing.
It is for this reason that many experts recommend dinghies as the best boats for learning sailing. Certainly this is true for children and we offer an extensive basic dinghy sailing course designed to suit children but ready adaptable to adults.
Our instructors are always present, either in the boat or alongside in a power boat, to offer assistance. Safety is our number one priority. As long as there is no danger to the student or the boat we allow students to make there own mistakes and learn from them as the fastest way to develop confidence in their skills on the water.
